AMAL TOTKAY:

For converting the fixed mindset to growth mindset, Amal suggests a few tips called Amal totkay.

1. SELF TALK:

The conversation or chat you have with yourself is called self talk. There is another term for it called internal monologue. Honestly, you are the most original person when you are talking to yourself. It is the true reflection of yours. We always try to be positive in self talk because what we do is what we assume. It is a way of mindset growth. We should call it positive self talk instead of mere self talk. We meditate and converse with ourselves when we are alone. We realize our actions through this process. The best way to self talk in my opinion is the end of day because it reflects what you were doing during the whole day.

2. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE:

Getting out of your comfort zone means you are accepting challenges and putting yourself in circumstances where you only have two options “do or die”. You only have to go for the ‘do’. This is the most difficult part of upgrading your mindset. When you push yourself out of comfort your zone, you definitely learn something from the challenge. I have learned that when I push myself in challenges, I have only one option that is completion of the task.

3. CREATE NEW HABITS:

Habits are not learned but developed by daily practice. For the growth mindset, you have to adopt some healthy and effective habits. You can start learning books and blogs. Making notes out of them, learning them and implementing those learnings, is the best habit for developing a growth mindset. You can also change the perception of thinking by this habit. You start observing different aspects of the same thing. It makes you a critical but creative thinker.

4. ASK PEOPLE FOR HELP:

We are hesitant to ask people for help because ego factors interfere in this process. But in my point of view, a high ego is the feature of a fixed mindset. There is nothing like hesitation and ego in people with a growth mindset. You should often ask for help from your dear ones. You can ask them for feedback about your change. Interaction with these people helps you in upgrading your mindset.

5. FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT:

This is a sort of your mind exercise. The habits you are developing and the changes you are supposed to gain should be faked first. You should pretend that you are changing, this habit has inculcated in you and you are the person with a totally new mindset. For example, if you are trying to develop confidence in speaking, you should start giving your opinion more often. This is a drill method for you and during the course of time, these changes become permanent.

My favourite tips are self talking and fake it till you make it. I always converse with myself and try to fake some of the good habits.
